Oil leak need help

Asked by Zack Aug 02, 2018 at 09:55 PM about the 2004 Ford F-150 Lariat SuperCrew 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Got a 04 f-150 with the 5.4 triton an I’ve got a oil
leak on driver side of motor. I think it’s coming from
oil filter housing but not sure. I got my oil changed
on 6-30-18 at 124,483 miles an I checked the oil
today 8-2-18 at 125,555 An it’s at the add mark. I’ve
tightened all the oil pan bolts oil filter housing bolts
an oil filter itself an still leaking oil. I was wondering
if anyone has had this problem? If so what was it an
how’d you fix it?? Thanks

Losing a quart of oil in one thousand miles is not of concern, as it is an older engine. Power wash the underneath of the vehicle or use a commercial cleaner with a hose. This should allow you to see where oil is coming from if there is a leak.
