Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Put a new engine in 2004 Ford F150 4.6L and it won't start. Engine cranked
before installation. Can hear the fuel pump kicking on, but it won't turn over.
Any suggestions?

You need to go back to the basics. If the engine is turning over (starter is cranking), then check for Spark, fuel, timing and compression.
All is good as far as that is concerned. Having a locksmith come to try to reset the key tonight...see what that does. The thing is a nightmare!

If you haven't already figured out your problem... Make sure you have the start signal at the small wire to the starter. If it cranks, but no fuel, can be shutdown relay (stupid ford thing). It's also common for the wire harness to get crappy connections when you reinstall sometimes. Just use a power probe and multi meter to trace the power for what is not working properly... Hahaha
