Phaser knocking noise AFTER the VCT Solenoids
were replaced.

Was the same type of oil put back in that is recommended for the truck? If not would try that first.

Yes I used the same oil 5w-20 Mobil 1 fully synthetic. My best guess of why this has happened is that the new Solenoids are flowing better than the old ones causing timing issues and creating that knock. At 172,000 miles these trucks are well known to have cam phaser issues. The truck is in great condition and garage kept its whole life with next to no rust being a northern Illinois truck its surprising how well its held together so far. The stealerships want bags of money to touch it too. Should have done my homework on the 5.4l or stuck with GM lol
