Will 2005 Expedition 5.4l 3v swap into 2010 f150 5.4l 3v?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Wanna take out the F150 motor to build on it but
don't wanna be down while I do it. Got a deal on a
2005 Expedition motor and wanna try n swap it in.
Think it will work?
Any 2010 or 2009 f150 5.4l 3v engines here for
sale?

it will go in...but exhaust manifold outlets ? you compurers might not talk to one another... hummmm.it just might be down a long time too....id just rebuild the short block and heads.. machine house time 2 days....with a fiver... heck..bore it out 30 thous....you can get the whole kit for $300.00
I suspect you will have PCM/ECM problems. Check the part numbers for both vehicles for the above systems on both vehicles. If they are identical you may only need a reprogram. But, I suspect the pin outs for both will be different.
Thanks for the replies. Bottom end has been redone and strengthened but valve train keeps giving me issues. Rocker arms breaking and bending valves eating up the piston. Need to find a stock motor thays compatible to install it while I work the kinks out of this set up I wanna run.

I totally agree with with Kelly on this one Dedtric. Just rebuild the one that's in there. You go backwards in years and you will have other issues occur with fitment and sensors. What I'm actually looking into is if i can swap my 2005 5.4l to a newer Coyote motor. It will be more reliable and way more HP. Will keep y'all posted if its possible. I know anything is possible but is all the time and money worth it? That's whats on my mind. Time to me isn't the problem because I like to tinker like that but the money is the bigger question.
