Wanting to remove bed of 2006 ford f150 5.5 ft bed how many bolts are there to remove and are they underneath or on top of bed?

Look at the floor of your bed. You will see probably six bolts in two rows. There may be a large Torx type slot cut into the center of the bolt. Remove those. Next check all around each rear wheel well. You will probably find a brace or two attaching the lower portion of quarter panel to the frame. Remove those. Then you will have to disconnect and remove/ and move the wiring to the tail lights. Remove the bumper. Three individuals can lift the bed. One should look under the bed while it is being lifted to ensure you did not miss anything connected. YOu'll also have to remove the gasoline filler connection from the body.
