Driver's side door will not open after using a Slim Jim. I can only open from the inside. What is broken and how can I fix this?

Remove the inside door panel with the window up. Visually look at the rod which connects the outside handle to the opening mechanism. Many times the rod connection points are made of plastic or a ball and socket connection. Something was either broken or pulled loose in the process.

The rod is disconnected. Can you tell me where it is suppose to connect with a diagram?
