Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm working on a 02 chevy tracker 2.0L DOHC after the timing chain broke(upper)and would not start after trying. After changing timing chain and gears, setting timing, still wont start and has no compression at all. Is the engine shot ? can head be repaired to salvage engine/

A broken timing chain could definitely damage the engine and the heads. If you've changed everything and it still won't start I'd say unfortunately you are looking at a shot engine. I'm not sure if the costs of repairing the heads would be worth it.
