Rear main seal leak or something else?

Asked by B2000 Mar 23, 2017 at 09:26 PM about the 1999 Ford F-250 Super Duty XL 4WD LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 99 ford f250. It has just under 43000 on it.
5.4 litre. I'm not very good with diagnosing engine
issues. I think the rear main seal is leaking but it
only leaks when I drive. It's not a big leak by any
means. Is there something else that could be
leaking

If you can live with it then wait until the leak gets worse. You must pull the transmission to fix the rear main seal. I would have a mechanic put it up on the rack and let them look for the leak.
