Where is this vibration coming from?
Asked by CStrack Apr 17, 2017 at 08:47 AM about the 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS RWD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
When I'm in my vehicle, either in park or drive, there is a vibration going all throughout the vehicle. I took it to a mechanic shop, no codes showed up, no lights are on in the dash.
Could the engine not firing on all 6 cylinders cause this vibration? Could it be a fouled spark plug?
Thank you for any help.

It could be an engine miss but there would be a code. Have the flex plate checked for cracks, and check the torque converter bolts. This causes a definite vibration.
Motor mounts are a common cause for vibration on our platform.

Had the same in my 07. Checked mounts all good. Added Seafoam to fuel. Resoled the vibration. It is noted somewhere here that the intake on the straight 6 can carbon up. I'm betting that was my issue.
If you have a trailblazer or envoy with 4.2 i6 and all motor and trans mounts are good but vibrates on in gear at idle then check exhaust mount at trans mounts my trailblazer vibrates at idle in gear found rubber grouments bad and exhaust grounding out on them replaced exhaust mount and no more vibrations at all like new

I have a 2003 had vibration at idle in gear. Turn out that motor mount on left side facing vehicle ( right side sitting in vehicle) was bad. Replaced it no more vibration. Mine was so bad I was ready to trade it.
