There is a security system that prevents the vehicle to start without the factory keys. If by any chance you have the key number recorded, the dealer can make a copy, if not then you will have to get a knowledgeable locksmith.

they may cut a key from the vin # , the old key was probably worn along with the cylinder so a new one may be tricky
