Just buy an SS Trailblazer, came stock with a 327 5.3. You can certainly do the swap and be legal for sure, even here in strict emissions CA. To much modification and wiring involved, but it has been done. Save yourself the headache and get an SS. On the other hand if you're putting a 1960's style 327 in there, would be a worse nightmare and cost would be significant. You would have to find out if it would be legal in your state. I know here in CA it would be legal due to they go by the year of the motor, so would be smog exempt.

Only cars 1975 and older are smog exempt in the People's Republic of Kalifornia.

F_O_R....have things changed? I have a 1967 327 in my 1977 Toyota, I have the B.A.R. plaque mounted by them on the tub. I've been smog exempt and legal since the late 1980's.
