02 trailblazer

Asked by johncarwash Jan 17, 2019 at 02:14 PM about the 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

went to dealer to buy replacement motor control module part# 52494707 and
was told its been discontinued. Does anyone know if the ACDelco part# 15-
81773 will work? The guy at Chevy was not sure it would work before 03 and
of course no refunds on electronics.

I can help you. Do you have automatic climate controls or manual? Manual has the 2 vertical adjusters for passenger and driver side up being hot, down being cold. Automatic would be digital.

Yes, that's the right one. 15-81773 is for digital, 15-81772 is for manual. Suggestion for you, replace the pigtail that goes into it ALSO. These melt, and may or may not be your original cause for failure. This problem is so common, should be a recall I tell ya. Don't forget to replace the pigtail too.
