Asked by VALKYRIE Sep 11, 2007 at 09:25 PM about the 1999 Ford F-350 Super Duty XL Crew Cab LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Truck lost power and eventually cut off and won't start back.  Fuel filter changed, cleaned air filter, checked engine oil.  TRUCK CRANKS BUT WON'T START.  No fuel getting into the filter bowl.  Where is the fuel pump cut off switch located?  Where is the electric fuel pump located?  Your help will be appreciated, this is my only transportation.

Thanks,

Steve

Cam sensor, particularly if you're at or above 90K. Try to rent or borrow a control code reader to confirm. You might be able to fix it under a shade tree. Jim Egenrieder F350TD@deepwater.org

Sorry. Just re-read your post - there would be fuel delivered to the filter if the problem was the cam sensor. Never mind the cam sensor for now. The fuel pump is along the inside frame rail probably just beneath the feet of the rear passenger on the drivers'-side. Good luck. If it's a crew cab long bed and you have it towed, make sure you get a 21-foot flat bed. A 19.5 flat bed is 9 inches too short. Jim Egenrieder

Check your oil level, Ford protection, low Oil no fuel pump!

I live in a dusty environment and the dust built up enough to sort of short the individual coil packs. Unplug em, blow em out, plug em back it. Runs like a champ.
