Where is the neutral safety switch located on a 2005 F-350 6.0L powerstroke diesel?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Where is the neutral safety switch located on a 2005 F-350. I think the transmission is the 5R110 (5C3P-7000-KB). Is it on the transmission or on the steering column and where? Thanks in advance!

Should be under dash, but if you dont, see this,it will be on side of tranny where linkage is.
They made it different in all model,s some under dash and some on side of tranny.
Dont see that under the dash, and nothing on the transmission at the linkage. Part search says it should look like this (attached pic), but can't find that under the dash either.
I have read on a few that they are in the steering colunm.
Ok. Do you think if i drop the steering column it would be visable from the top side?
thanks so much for your help.
It has to be there, you looked in both the other place,s and havent see nit.
The pic shown by racerdave is a neutral safety switch and its located inside the transmission. Remove pan and you will see it attached at shifter linkage inside. I am working on a 2005 Econoline Van. Ford says this year model changed over and they were put inside tranny vs. outside on linkage or under dash. Thanks
it is in pan as i am doing one as well it looks like a hard one to replace

Why do they parts look so different
Where is the neutral safety switch located on my 04 Superduty F250
inside the transmission pan
to remove you must remove the roll pin retaining the shift linkage then remove roll pin holding shift linkage to sensor pull linkage out of transmission sensor should fall in your hand
It's called a range selector switch , it is inside the transmission connected to the shift linkage, you have two 8 mm bolts to remove and two dowel pins to get it out, if your not well experienced I would take it to a transmission shop or the dealer
Just read all this and really appreciate all the information I will update on my situation
The tag on my transmision has the numbers 6C3P 7000-KB Any help with a location for the Range selector. You mentioned its inside but why are so many people either have no idea where it is. Just this year Ford decided to change it up. Do you have a parts breakdown or know where to find one for my transmission Range sensor. 2006 f350 SD 2 WHEEL DRIVE DULLEY. THANK YOU DLB
From 2003 and up Ford change the location for the safety neutral switch most of them are inside the transmission you need to remove the transmission oil pan to get access to it the most important piece is the pin there is a special tool to remove it be careful on pulling it down because if it goes up your done you will need to replace the entire transmission if it goes up Best of luck
