Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Where is the neutral safety switch located on a 2005 F-350. I think the transmission is the 5R110 (5C3P-7000-KB). Is it on the transmission or on the steering column and where?  Thanks in advance!

Should be under dash, but if you dont, see this,it will be on side of tranny where linkage is.

Dont see that under the dash, and nothing on the transmission at the linkage. Part search says it should look like this (attached pic), but can't find that under the dash either.

The pic shown by racerdave is a neutral safety switch and its located inside the transmission. Remove pan and you will see it attached at shifter linkage inside. I am working on a 2005 Econoline Van. Ford says this year model changed over and they were put inside tranny vs. outside on linkage or under dash. Thanks

It's called a range selector switch , it is inside the transmission connected to the shift linkage, you have two 8 mm bolts to remove and two dowel pins to get it out, if your not well experienced I would take it to a transmission shop or the dealer

The tag on my transmision has the numbers 6C3P 7000-KB Any help with a location for the Range selector. You mentioned its inside but why are so many people either have no idea where it is. Just this year Ford decided to change it up. Do you have a parts breakdown or know where to find one for my transmission Range sensor. 2006 f350 SD 2 WHEEL DRIVE DULLEY. THANK YOU DLB

From 2003 and up Ford change the location for the safety neutral switch most of them are inside the transmission you need to remove the transmission oil pan to get access to it the most important piece is the pin there is a special tool to remove it be careful on pulling it down because if it goes up your done you will need to replace the entire transmission if it goes up Best of luck
