82 ford f350 mechanical fuel pump??? is it driven by the timing chain?

There is a cam that drives the fuel pump. Maybe you have an air lock or the filter is plugged.

May just need a prime. but check the below. 1. Decent amount of gas in the tank. 2. No leaks at all in the lines or potential for leaks. 3. Fuel in the line all the way up to the fuel pump or as close as you can get it. 4. The fuel pump has no internal leaks that could prevent it from creating vacuum. 5. Fuel in the pump itself. 6. Put fuel in the carb bowl as well, to give yourself a head start.

If everything checks out, pour gas in carb and be ready to squirt some starter fluid after it cranks to keep it running as long as possible as a good pump will prime faster with the engine running.

Its safer to not pour gas in carb and fill the bowls threw the vent tubes, but some are hard to get too so be carefull and do not splash gas everywhere and be ready with a chemical fire extinguisher if the bowl vents are hard to reach (may can rig up a tube and funnel if needed).
Thanks.. I found what was wrong with it. The delivery fuel hose was cut at the tank, that's what was stopping fuel from being delivered to carb.
