Started a buddys F350 and it idled for a bit but had no response from the foot pedal to rev the engine. After the truck idled it now just initially starts then shuts off after a quick rev.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

F350 wont stay running after initial start up.  It idled for a bit but now just starts, revs and stops.  Zero response from the foot pedal and wondering about a throttle response sensor, fuse blown or something else?

Is the check engine light illuminated? Gas or diesel engine?

Get the vehicle scanned for codes. It will let you know if it is the Throttle Response Sensor, or the Throttle Positioning Sensor.

there's a wrench illuminated and what looks like a tranny light are both illuminated. Not sure about the diesel or gas. I hope gas, I added a couple gallons because it was extremely low
