Can anyone tell me if it is a oil pump fitting or a oil pressure sensor?? The Ford mechanic said a oil pump fitting. We can't seem to find anything of the sort online other then one site said it was covered under warranty. Another guy that was a diesel mechanic for 22 years said it is called a oil pressure sensor. Been without the truck for a week now and going crazy!!!!
if you speaking of what I think you are,is under oil filter.
OK that helps.but if you have never removed or installed a turbo, let a mechanic do the job.just courious, why do you think you need a oil pump fitting??

We had a ford diesel mechanic come over and reprogram the truck after doing a cam sensor and the ficm and it still didn't start. He did a diagnostic on it and said the oil pressure was low and that the number 8 wasn't getting oil to it so he said it needed a fitting??

What is on the back of the motor between the head and the intake facing the driver seat? There are 3 bolts and a plate on the outlet under the turbo pipe going to the exhaust?
feel you gettingfibed to,1 if truck wont start,he would not know if the oil pressure was low or not,nor know that # 8 cyl wasent getting oil,the diagnostic could not tell that, even if it was running.if it still wont start try replaceing the cold start sensor, even in summer if this is bad,it wont start.
yea know its a diesel.,is just a breather pipe for exhaust for unburned fuel.nothing to be concerned about.

This guy also told me that after taking the turbo off there was a cover that had 3 8mm or 10mm bolts that had to come off to change this item any idea what this could be?
to be honest with you,i think this guy is giveing you a bunch of BS.did some research on this vehicle last night,no mention of a oil pump fitting.beside the oil pump is on bottom of motor into oil pan, when you change your oil,do you fill the oil filter with oil before installing, this is a must do on a diesel.my opinion, leave this guy alone before you damage your truck.not being a smart ass, just being honest with you.if it is running fine, dont try or let someone tear up your truck.
