Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Until yesterday, the ignition warning chime on my Crown Vic was working properly. The chime turned off after a few seconds when turning the ignition switch to ON. Now the chime keeps ringing even when the engine is running. What's wrong ? Should I check the chime module or is this a malfunction of the ignition switch ? I noticed that the Fasten Seat Belts indicator light within the instrument cluster only lights up when the chime module is connected. So I actually want to fix this and not just to discobbect the module from the switch.

Hmmm... I just replaced the chime module located below the dashboard (next to the fuse box). With the replacement module chime works properly again.

it had a code stored and you deleted it by changing it. did you remove the batt when you replaced it? Im thinking it was an eecs problem. Now youll have to wait til the pcm finds it again for the code to be read.
