Should I put in another rebuilt or re-mfactured engine or dump it?

Dealer quotes 3,800 - 5,400 for rebuilt or remanufactured engine.
2006 SE. I suddenly started missing. I lost 1 cylinder with 2 others misfiring--no trouble before this except warning light to check charging system.

A 2006 should last longer than this, 7 years, unless you racked up unreal miles, but with proper maintainence it sure seems quick to need an engine. First advice: stay away from dealers. The will hit you for double of what a reputable shop will charge
Anyway, if you do this, go with a crate engine, buy it yourself and take it to a shop, A known shop, not necessarily a chain, just a shop that has been in business a while
For the V6 3.8 plan on paying about $1400 long block (with heads)
Thanks to all 3 folks. all answers very helpful. What about the continuos "check charging system" light that comes on and keeps coming on sometimes after car engine is warmed up? I noticed windows were slower than usual once and some for wipers. strange? COmputer problem? Elec system problem?
