Oil filter

Asked by Sandra Jul 24, 2018 at 08:02 PM about the 2000 Honda CR-V SE AWD

Question type: General

Just bout this CRV.  Owner says use filter PH3593A, Honda says use
15400PLMA02, Garage says they use PG4162?  I do not know which one I
should use and if they all are compatable for my CRV.  The honda one I
understand but which of the other two would suffice?  Honda wants $60 for an
oil change.  the garage $41.

Thank you, I thought maybe there was a place where I could find crossover oil filter numbers. As the last owner insisted I should use PH3593A... I just purchased this vehicle as someone hit and run me and totaled my toyota...

Oh that's terrible sorry to hear. Myself personally I stay away from Fram filters (ph3593a) as i prefer Wix brand filters but the genuine Honda filter would also be good and could be purchased from them and taken to your mechanic for the oil change. It's best to stick to premium filters as your engine is at stake and not all filters are created equal
