Chevy Blazer 2001 S-10 won't start when it rains
Asked by Bboytictoc93 Feb 19, 2018 at 08:20 AM about the 2001 Chevrolet Blazer LS 4-Door 4WD
Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I CHANGED: Distributor cap and rotor, new
battery, battery cable connectors, ignition
coil, cam shaft sensor, fuel pump and fuel
filter. I did all this in the past 3 weeks & still
having problems(on rain days). I cover the
top part of the hood of the truck with a
plastic tarp everytime it rains & still don't
start. I'm not a mechanic & I don't know
much about cars and trucks. Can someone
please help me with this???

how about a coating of water beads on the engine on damp days! a dirty grease film everywhere will gather moisture and the high ignition. spark will go to ground right out the coil or plug wires, a few minute hair drier blast, or better yet a regular heat gun will help till engine is cleaned

Sounds good. I'll try the hair dryer thing to see if that works. The other stuff you said I don't understand. I don't know much about cars. I had to look up YouTube to fix things on the car but I had to take the car to a shop to get the fuel pump and fuel filter fixed cuz I didn't know how to do it.

I hair dried everything in the engine, sprayed starting fluid in the intake, plus I checked all the fuses (all of them are good) & still nothing. I don't know much about cars & can't figure it out why it won't start. I'm gonna change the spark plugs wires that are connected to the distributor cap & see if that makes a difference. Cause I'm seeing a little spark by the ignition coil from the wire that's connected to the distributor cap. Hopefully that makes a difference.
