Question type: Maintenance & Repair

A couple months ago I had the starter replaced.
After being out of town for a week I come home
and the car won't start. When I say it won't start I
mean it doesn't click or crank when the key turns
Not a sound. Replaced the battery which was

Check all connections at battery and starter,if good, the new starter may be bad.

@tennisshoes - what is the issue if it starts when put in neutral with parking brake on? My son is having same issue and after reading your post we tried this and it started right up. What should we be looking at as cause of problem?

@tennisshoes - Thanks for answering! This Blazer is getting on my last nerve. Single mom trying to keep it running for my boys. We are learning a lot, but Damn! It would be nice to have it just stay fixed for more than a month. I seriously appreciate your help with this!

We're kind of at the point where we need to decide how much more money to throw at it. The intake manifold has been replaced, we've had a new radiator and fan installed, new plugs and wires, a few other things. But exhaust needs welded back in place, needs new motor mount, transmission clunks when shifting to reverse, 4 wheel drive doesn't engage and now this starting issue. Paid $1500 for it, but have thrown another $3000 at it in last 3 years. We MAY be able to get $2000 for it if we try to sell it as is. Maybe. Feels like it could be time to bail on this beast.
