I have a 2001 Chevy blazer. I change my transmission filter and put in new fluid to top off. Now the car starts off in second gear and won't down shift into first manually or automatically. What would cause the problem? It was perfect befor filter change.

If it was changing before fluid and filter change the new filter is not seated in correctly or did not remove old filter gasket before installing new filter and it is sucking in air.

How can you narrow it down to exactly what is wrong with the tranny when it is not shifting out of first I also changed my fluids and filter and put it back together would not shift out of first before it shifted fine

I would think shift solenoid mine I had to let it warm up ,hook up ow reader and clear codes and would shift ok till next time I started it,ended up just changing it
