01 blazer stumbles at take off

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have an 2001 Chevrolet blazer 4.3 that I'm using
as a mail truck. It has 38,000 original miles
(previously owned by a retiree) and was well
maintained (service records to match). I put
approximately 60 miles a day on it and maintain
above average care with maintenance. I have
started to notice that towards the 30 mile mark
each day, my vehicle begins to hesitate when taking
off from each mailbox and while sitting at box. It
clears out fine after it reached 2,000rpm's but then
it's time to stop at the next box. We did replace the
clutch fan with an electric fan, we have an
additional power steering pump cooler, and
adjusted with a larger alternator to maintain these
items. Air filter was changed 690 miles ago along
with oil. Alternator test and battery test confirms
appropriate voltage. Help!

It could be a number of different problems, starting from the transmission to just a simple bad connection to one of the sparkplugs (or even the sparkplugs), MAP, or other sensor.
Maybe start running some fuel injection cleaner threw the gas, start using some premium for a while. Possible dirty fuel injectors.
Also wanted to add that I replaced the belt tensioner, idler pulley and belt approximately 750 miles ago because of a squeal and that did fix the squeal issue. No CEL (airbag light is on because of RHD conversion process)
Replaced fuel filter and opened the filter to see if it had trash in it and the paper filter in it was almost completely disintegrated. Every time I would touch it, it would just crumble into saw dust looking pieces. More than likely it was those pieces clogging the port. Runs like a champ now and even felt a little peppier afterwards. Thanks for all the advice!
Well wouldn't you know, That was not suggested in our post since you said this vehicle has "above maintenance" done to it, that was just too obvious! I would still run some fuel injection cleaner threw and in the winter time put Isopropyl in the gas for moisture. Happy Trails to you!
The fuel filter was replaced at 25,000 miles and the vehicle currently had 13k on that fuel filter. Fuel filters should be able to last at least 20k before replacement. I did check all mentioned above minus transmission as that would need to be a professionals job for me.
You should not have any problems for the time being, don't worry about the trany if all is well. But you do need to keep up with the maintenance on it, fluid & filter change every 40,000. What every you do, do not let anybody talk you into a trany flush! Only asking for trouble if you do.
Thanks, I'm almost to 40,000 but I'm sure under my driving conditions vs. normal driving conditions, it may be best to not go over 30k. I've never done a trans flush. I drove an s10 on the mail route before this. My son has it now since he's driving age and we always just drained the fluid, replaced filter and added fluid back. Same with rear end. Drain and replace. Three things I have noticed about both vehicles that drive me nuts and wonder if it's GM's wonderful engineering: When I'm at low rates of speed (less than 10mph) and gently apply brakes, sometimes it sounds like it's skidding, when I turn hard I hear a knock in front, and the underbody rust/oxygenation process. Both the s10 and the blazer have these issues and the blazer was garage kept.
That knock may be a engine mount or a trany mount. There should be no knock when you turn hard. Something is worn. Or the exhaust is swaying in the rubber mounts and hitting something. Just tell someone next time you get it serviced.
We have asked the dealership before and a mechanic. In the s10, replaced idler arm, bushings, whole new set of control arms, and greased. Both said it's a bad engineering defect. I have googled for months on it to try to see even a glimpse of an answer and it seems to be a major issue but no recalls. The weird skid at low speeds when braking is the ABS sensor and have been replaced, but also leaning to bad design. Overall, love my vehicle but those 2-3 things we have had looked at multiple times with no answers.
Don't do a transmission flush, just change the fluid and filter.
