Car won't start

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
A few days ago my car wouldn't start. So I
found out what the problem was. I replaced
the rotor & distributor cap & the ignition coil
( I don't know much about cars). It ran fine
after that. This morning I started it up & it
started but after a few minutes it died out. It
won't start anymore. My battery is good, just
got a oil change last week, all my fuses are
good, all my fluids are top off. I thought
maybe the gas line is clogged cuz while I
was driving yesterday, it took some time to
get up to 45mph & my service engine light is
been on ever since. So I don't know what the
problem is?? Can you please help me out. I
don't know much about cars.

Have the fuel pressure checked to make sure it' within spec's .It's more than likely low fuel pressure

I just put in cam shaft sensor & we bought a fuel filter to put in tomorrow (little late now). If I put in the fuel filter in, do I have to open the gas tank to release air pressure or doesn't matter? I heard if you do that, it's easier to take it off.

Plus, if I sprayed starting fluid into the carburetor, shouldn't it start? I did that & nothing happened. I put the crank shaft sensor in NOT the cam shaft sensor.
Can you have the codes pulled and post them ??
Is there a moduel in the distributer if so I would try replacing it

What are codes? How do I do that? I went to start the truck this morning & it started!! I think it's cuz everytime it rains, my truck won't start. So I always cover the hood of the truck with a tarp so things won't get wet. I thought changing the distributor cap & rotor was the problem from that happening. But it must be something else. So why won't my truck start when it rains?
