A lower gear ratio (the ring & pinion) higher numerically. would help but sacrifice your overall top speed. Small bore / short stroke V6's are notorious for low torque but high rev's. You can istall a different intake manifold like an aluminum Edelbrock & or some long tube headers with performance cat & muffler exhaust system for a little bit more torque. I used to have a 292" straight 6 in a C-20 pickup, it had tons of torque! Power stroke diesels too. Good for towing.
