If it's still running after 29 years, it seems pretty reliable.
The old ones like this were better than even the next year, but they were still very iffy and underpowered.
I can tell you these little trucks are virtually indestructible! We used S10s at my job as delivery trucks for many years, including the mid to late 90s versions. Most went to over 300,000 miles with little problems. Most had to be junked after they got into an accident or two or three. I bought a retired 2003 S10 from my job in 2011 with 264,000 miles on it. Thirteen years later I'm still driving it and it has cost me very little to keep it going with almost 316,000 miles on it! It does need a catalytic converter now and the air conditioner stopped working a few years ago. But it starts and takes me where I want to go every time! Jim
