My chevy S10 (96) is stuck 5th gear what do I do?

I was down shifting from 5th to 4th,heard a little clank and its stuck. I can put it in neutral and it still
wants to drive

HAVE YOU CHECKED THE SHIFTING RODS ON SIDE OF TRANS.THE RUBBER GROMMETS WEAR OUT,WHICH MAY BE AN EASY FIX,OR THE SCNHCROS. INSIDE TRANS COULD BE WORN OUT,YOU DID NOT SAY HOW MANY MILES ARE ON IT......aaacar

Does the clutch still disengage the transmission?

If it was run low on gear oil it could of seized the 5th gear o the main shaft,
