take it to a shop to get fixed it needs to be tested and checked for leaks

You can save yourself some money. Get yourself a refill kit from any auto parts store. Buy a can that has uv dye in it. Charge up your system according to the directions on the can. If there is no leak your good to go. If there is a leak you can now take it to an auto service garage and they will know where the leak is from the dye that comes from the leak.
