Transmission swap

yes you can use that trans, what you need to do is remove the tail housing on the out put shaft, when you do this also invest the extra money on a HD trans cooler otherwise you will burn up the clutches and bands inside the tranny, hope this helps you out, one other thing, check and make sure your seals are in good shape, if not replace them, the seal shouldnt cost more than 20 bucks
Except or the fact you have to swap out the output shafts and in order to do this you have to tear down the transmission. It's about the same labor as a basic rebuild, so if your going to do this then rebuild the trans. No it doesn't work
Andrew olson, thank you for correcting me on the s-10 trany question, for some strange reason i posted my reply on the trans swap issue to the wrong post, it was meant for a different type of vehicle manufacturer, again thanks for the correction
I have an 2001 gmc jimmy and the transmission is bad will a 1997 tranny work??
