Swapping BCMs in a 2000 s10 zr2 4wd from a 4wd blazer or a 4wd s10

Question type: Maintenance & Repair
I have a 2000 S10 zr2 4.3 4wd ls and the security
light is always on I'm thinking it's the bcm bc the
relearn procedure didn't work I tried it 5 times the
fuel pump and injectors do not work from the
security light I've tried locking and unlocking the
doers as Well didn't work the battery gets hot and
dies quickly so it's got to be the bcm but what I
want to know is what other modules in the truck
are vin encrypted so I can get all of them from the
donor vehicle I just need a list

There is no relearn procedure or reset procedures that will work in your situation. What you need to do is have the vehicle towed to your local Chevrolet Dealer for repairs. It's going to be cheaper and easier for you in the long run. Hope that helps! Jim
Just for diagnostics they charge 200 I'm estimating for parts and labour at the dealer ship it'll be around 800 to 900 it'll be cheaper if I just swap all the vin encrypted modules over from another truck
You didn't really help me at all I just needed to know which modules are vin encrypted besides the bcm, ecm, and radio
That's fine. I'm sorry if I sounded harsh but so many people think that the security systems in vehicles can be bypassed, relearned, etc. But the truth of the matter is they can't. Some of the very old and primitive systems can be bypassed but the more modern ones, like your Passkey System can't. You can try a local locksmith, but the Dealer is really where you want to be with this instead of tearing the whole vehicle apart. GM guards anything to do with keys and vehicle security like Ft. Knox. So, as I said, good luck. I hope it works out for you! Jim

I have definitely removed factory security systems. Some things you cannot get rid of, but if you understand basic vehicle electrical systems it's not impossible.
