Truck dying
I have a. 2000 s10 2.2 standard truck.about
6 months ago it died while I was driving for
the first time.happened sporadically and I
noticed that if I was under a half of tank of
gas or if it was smack dab in the middle of
the day it would die more often. Did some
research and was leaning towards fuel
pump. Way too expensive. Didn't have
money to change then so I started with the
filter under driver side. Then had my
boyfriend help me take my bed off to get to
strainer on pump.I expected that to be dirtier
than what it was because when I held that
up I could see daylight all the way through. I
started running plus premium gas and pretty
much just kept tank almost full at all
tines.and yet my truck died at least once on
my way home from work sometimes on the
way there but it was still dark and cool out
so for whatever reason it didn't do it as
often. When it died I usually could just throw
it in neutral and coast for about ten seconds
and then turn it over and have it start right
back up.only a couple of times did I have to
pull over and wait a few minutes before it
would start. Then last week I was checking
my fluids and I decided to look at the fuse
box with the fuel pump relay. Well it as was
hot to the touch... I changed it out with and
for the last 4 and a half days imy truck did
not die one time... I was thrilled. Didn't
expect me changing that to fix it. Well it
didn't cuz today it started again but now
when it dies I couldn't just start it back up. I
had to pull over and wait for 3 or 4 minutes
before the truck would start again. Help
please.
