Check engine light doesnt work right

Asked by Kyle Jun 07, 2017 at 12:25 AM about the 2000 Chevrolet S-10 LS Stepside RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

With the key on the light will come on and
stay on. With the truck running though it
wont come on even with the cat off I even
pulled a spark plug and still nothing. Now
the truck wont start but once in awhile and
runs fine when it does. and im thinking its
the pcm at this point but I would like to have
the light give me a code first. I dont know
when the light last worked right.

To be clear the light bulb is not burned out.
And every fuse and relay is good and the
right ones in the truck.

Okay because Ive been rough on it and nothing triggered it. And my scanner doesnt do it either I thought it was the pcm but I thought I would get another opinion before I spent money on it. Thank you sir
