Gauges will not working when turning on
For a 2001 Chevy s10 when starting the truck it all
the gauges didn’t work. Driving back home the
truck died, and now it turns on dies. What could the
problem be?
Make sure battery has a full charge and battery connections all good. Any electrical component, I want to check voltage and ground for that component. The instrument cluster, I saw two fuses, gage fuse and cluster fuse, interior fuse box. Both those fuses goes hot with key on, so if problem with feed to or from ignition switch, that will cause problems. You can use test light to check for voltage at those fuses, key on. The ground for instrument cluster is the black wire. Because you said vehicle starts and stalls, makes me wonder about your security system? Any applicable trouble codes?
