Question type: Maintenance & Repair

my 2002 Chevy s10 2wd pickup 4.3 l
motor. was driving fine then started loosing
power as I was pulling off the freeway the
steering wheel locked up/ losed power
steering  and dash lights came on but lt
didn't die until I pulled over to the side of
the road I have checked the fuel pump and
filter replaced the  ignition switch  the only
way it will start is by putting gas down
carburetor but once it starts it will die
unless I keep revving it up as soon as it
idles or goes in gear it dies. Any thoughts
on what might be wrong

Check for codes, that will help alot. When you put gas in the throttle body do you put the intake plenum back on? If it's not on it won't idle as it has to see air flow at the mass air sensor.

it sounds like a bad throttle position sensor (tps) but you don't know for sure unless it's tested . Anyway , after you prime it and get it running it will run as long as you keep the rpm's up ?

So when It initially died and had the issue it popped up with check the gauges and then when we try to pull codes it just said that the third feel injector was bad and that's what it said before we replaced that just never reset it. And I don't no much about mechanics I don't think it got out back on and ya as long as I rev it up it will stay started
