Elecric problem in steering colum?

2003 S10 ext cab  4dr. Put the key in and everything locks key wont turn..wheel wont turn
we go nuetral park back n forth jiggle wheel eventually starts..have taken to mechanic
repeatedly replaced everything possibe.still happening ? Is there some wiring in colum
not connecting?

When you mention everything possible. Was a new ignition switch installed. Just curious, because the ignition switches notoriously wear out in these vehicles. The problem you are having inside the steering column is mechanical, not electrical. Try pressing firmly on the brake as well. There is a mechanical interlock with the shifter.

Unless I'm misunderstanding... Are you saying you can turn the ignition to start and nothing happens?

I Agree with Mark... You might need to replace the entire key mechanism but this can be costly.. I think I paid about $80.00 to have mine done about 7 years ago!
