I have a 2003 chevy S10 4x4 LS quad cab 4.3 vortex engine. I have issues at times with being able to start it. Have to keep foot on it or it will die; also when put in gear. Fuel pump changed X3.

do you have any codes? a comomn failure is the fuel pressure regulator on the spider injector
This all started after I had the fuel pump replaced. A day after that the gas gauge failed, the pump was replaced, it happens a second time but if you knocked on the tank the gauge would work. The service vehicle light came on and it was found that the neck of the tank had been broken and repaired but failed causing a severe gas and vapor leak. It was at this time the truck had the starting issues and died when put into gear. After several months the tank was repaired and and they switched out the fuel pump a third time. No more vapor leak and the truck has only had one incident of difficulty starting and dying when dropped into gear (2 months ago). I have to have a smog and will check for codes again. I was thinking about changing the spider injector just as a precaution. I have also noticed that the oil pressure jumps from 20 to 60 but will settle at 40.
