Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am having problems with my truck. It died on me
and I checked the codes, it said maf and random
misfire, I had recently replaced the cap and rotor
and the plugs, so I replaced the conto module and
the maf. Started and ran for a few days, same thing
this time it came up with catalyst sys below
threshold bank 1 so I replaced the o2 sensor, ran
for a couple days. Did it again this time I replaced
the cap since it is notorious and again ran about a
week, shut off again so I called someone for
advice and checked the converter to see if it was
clogged and it was so I straight piped it for the
time being. Wasnt running when parked checked
the fuel pressure and it was fine got and ohm
reading on the cam sensor ignition coil and
injectors through that big connector, all good
checked the fuel pressure again good, started up
drove around the building and changed the fuel
filter and it hasn't given any problems as of yet but
I am concerned it will do this again and getting to
50 mph and higher is a challenge, how can you tell
if it's the pump or the injectors?

4.3l spider injection. Leak down test? How do you perform that?

Good morning. You will need a fuel pressure gauge that hooks up the the Schrader Valve on the intake manifold. You cycle the key on, off until fuel pressure builds up. It should be 56 to 63 lbs. Once the pressure is built up turn the key to the off position. Watch the fuel pressure gauge, it should not drop off more than 5 lbs. in 3 minutes. If it does, there are either leaky fuel injectors, spider lines, or regulator. It is recommended to replace all as a unit.
