did not knock at all had the gasket changed an
when finished when I started it

Is the knocking internal engine? Listen at the valve covers and oil pan. You can use a mechanics stethoscope to listen. Another thought would be the octange rating of your gas? I'm not sure what gasket has to do with it as long as the gasket seals. I might be barking up the wrong tree? It wouldn't be the first time.
