Have 2006 Dakota 4x4 with 6 speed manual transmission 4.7 motor. Wanting to know if I do motor swap which motors will have same bolt pattern to keep 6 speed trans

A 5.7 or 5.9 should bolt in, since both of those engines have been used in the past in Dakotas. Just make certain that you have all the proper parts including flywheel, pressure plate, clutch assembly, throw-out bearing, etc. and can get it hooked up to the vehicle's computer properly if necessary. I don't think f you'll need an adapter kit for the tranny. I have plans to put a 5.7 in my 2002 4x4, but it will be backed up by an 8 speed auto.

Will it work if I swamp automatic transmission from 02 dodge dakota 4.7 and put in 05 dodge dakota 4.7?
