1995 4-cylinder Dakota needs new engine. Can I swap for a 6-cylinder without changing my 4-speed manual transmission?

Bad 4-cylinder. Would like to swap for 6-cylinder or small 8 without changing
transmission.  Possible?

Why don't you check part numbers and see if the same transmission is specified for the different engines? I doubt that is the case but you can look it up.
