Would a 1996-1997 transmission fit a 1995 Dodge Ram??

YES BUT!!! n I know that's why you posted here, unfortunately the electrical connectors to the tranny r different. Usually best to stay with the year model. Your's is a OBD1 system n 96/97 is OBD2. Call someone who's familiar with second gen Dodge trannys AND has the experience to back it up. I've read n seen too many times where someone with great authority states, "this year will interchange with that year...no problem, maybe swap this or that out!", WHOOPS, problem, that never happened to "them" before.
