i have a 95 dodge ram 1500 with the 5.9 360 and the 46 rh tranmission and im having similar problems before i droped my trans 1 had reverse and 2nd up no 1st. now i droped it replaced the front drum and all the rings and clutches in all except the final overdrive unit because i had no press to decompress spring now i have it in and rev and first work great it just wont shift to second please help

I have a 95 dodge ram that I am having problems with no reverse. The truck is not worth enough to drop a lot of money on a new or rebuilt transmission. Im not a mechanic, but like to tinker. The truck had issues with forward gears but reversed was working, I didnt have the money to fix so I let it sit for over 3 yrs. I decided to tinker with it, I replaced the control solenoid, filter and fluid. now all forward gears work great but when I put it into reverse, It will back up slowly on its own, but if I give it gas it just revs up like its in nuetral and it vibrates like its trying to back up but wont go. Fluid level is good, nothing was found in the pan (very little shavings). Could it be air in the lines? bands need to be adjusted? or what? 1 Answer

I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 4.7 Sport. I recently put in a new/used motor because my old one had a bad crankshaft. So after getting new motor in I started the truck and it ran great. I only ran it for about 5 seconds because I noticed I had a broken transmission line. I went back the next day and fixed the line. I went to start the truck back up and nothing happened. No click no nothing, everything lights up on dash. My engine light comes on and blinks about tens times than stays steady. My gear selections are all lit up.
