Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Wouldn't start even w a jump so I switched out the battery w the plow battery. This also
needed a jump. It won't start at all on it's own. Could this b the alternator?

No...most likely it is a corroded main connection to the ground...other end of the black battery cable as it attaches to the frame should be made free of corrosion with a coarse wirebrush so that 300 cold cranking amps can get through there...here and there's a 1/0 battery ground cable to the engine too....near the motor block...insure that the battery is newer than five years old by noting the "knock off" labels on the top of the battery showing the month and year of it's first charge...this way you will know that the battery is five years old and needs to be replaced~....in summation, GOOD GROUND....to chassis/frame and TO ENGINE...that ground should be in the form of 12.5 NEW volts~....from your new battery~
