Sounds like your key cylinder is bad not letting the key turn.Does the key turn at all when you put it in the switch and you do have the right key?

yeah i have the right key but it wont turn at all. i was hoping it was just the weather since it all happened with no warning at all

Sometimes if you take some wd40 and spray in it and keep trying to turn it forwards and back it will let you start it.Once you get it started don't turn the key back to where you can pull the key out because it has to be on to change out. If not you have to bust them out with a slide hammer to change it.

The only other thing is try putting a heater inside and warm it up in case it is frozen. If this doesn't work it's time for the slide hammer and new key switch.
