Could it be the ignition switch even if it starts and stays running with ether?

Asked by Kenny May 31, 2016 at 11:51 PM about the 1997 Dodge RAM 1500 ST Club Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

1997 Dodge Ram Sport will not stay running but
you can keep it running continuously using Ethan.
Now then I thought it was the fuel pump so I put a
new one in and drove it 30 miles and went to give
the boy a ride in it and now it won't run again
unless you use ether again. What am I missing,
could it be the ignition switch?

No, not the ignition switch, if its running using starting fluid. Have it read for codes at a discount auto store they do this for no fee.You changed the fuel filter too? Double check fuel pressure at the fuel rail.
