will a 97 dodge 360 interchange with a 01 315

I have a 97 1500 4x4 with a 360 in it that needs a motor, I have a 01 2wheel drive 315 I want to know if I would be able to put this motor in the 97, and what It would take to do it, will the transmission bolt up to It?

so what are you saying if I swap engine harness and computer it will work fine ?
Yes it is basically the same engine so when you change the harness/ecm everything on the other engine will be right.
what about the torque conveter smoothing about engines being balanced differently
Torque converter should be fine. Both engines should be externally balanced by the crankshaft pulley and flywheel.
& we are sure that the trannys are the same from a 97- 01? it will all bolt up?

5.9 engine is external balanced 5.2 is internal balance you just make shore you have the 5.2 flex plate an fly wheel maybe other than that it will work I’m doin a 5.9 swap on mine you don’t have to change wiring harnesses it’s all about the same
