On my 2001 surburban i put the gear shift into drive it will drive i put it in reverse it wont do nothing my rpm just reaves up what could it be

Sandy,check the fluid in the transmission to make sure it is full,and does, not have a burnt smell to it,but i hate to say this and in hopes it is just the fluid is low,but 90% of the time the reverse are the first to go out.

Dang my husband check the fuild . Months ago it was good so dies that mean i might messed it up

Usually on chevys, the first gear to go out in the tranny is reverse.

O yeah i also forgot to say it was making a weird nise under the truck as well like
