usually governor pressure and shift solenoids. Their are kits available for this which include the transmission filter. Less than 1 hour job by competent mechanic.
Healeyman is correct. Your truck is stuck in what is called "limp mode". This mode is designed to prevent further damage to your transmission. Change the two solenoids and you will be rolling again.
How to locate the solenoid
I have a 2002 Dodge ram 1500 that won’t go in gear
what if you change the sensors and its still in limp mode
I agree with Corbin. I replaced both govenor pressure solenoid and governor pressure sensor in the transmission. I also replaced the transmission output sensor and the sensor on the rear axle. I flushed the transmission and have completely clean fluid. My truck will not shift at all. Where do I look now and what do I do next?
