2007 Dodge Ram 1500 will not shift out of 2nd

I started my truck this morning and left the driveway fine.  As I came to a stop sign I felt something weird with the Transmission.  After that it seemed to be stuck in 2nd gear.  I can manually shift down from Drive to 2nd but not from 2nd to 1st.  It will shift from 2nd to Drive manually.  But when left on its own it seems to be stuck in a higher gear.  When I stopped at the next red light I turned the truck off and then back on and the Check engine light came on.  Is the Trans in limp mode?  I have not had the codes checked but will this afternoon.

my 99 dodge ram done that & changed my speed sensor & there's another sensor called input output sensor.both are located outside the transmission
